How Delivery Works When We Have No Warehouse
Every item ships from the brand that makes it. What that means for timing, tracking, freight, split deliveries and returns, before you order.

We hold no stock. There is no Station Home Design warehouse with rugs on shelves and a van outside. Every item on the site ships directly from the brand that makes it, and our own branded goods are made to order by a print partner. That is what lets the range be as wide as it is, and it also changes how delivery works in ways worth knowing before you order rather than after.
This is the plain version of our shipping policy, with the parts people ask about most.
Where we ship
The United States only. Checkout will not accept an address outside it. There is no international option, and if you find a way to enter one the order will not ship.
What happens when you order
- You order. You get a confirmation email straight away.
- We review it and pass it to the maker within 48 hours. Orders placed on a weekend or a US public holiday go through on the next business day.
- The maker dispatches it and a tracking number comes to you by email.
- Tracking usually takes 24 to 48 hours to show movement after it is issued. A tracking page that says "label created" for a day is normal.
Timing: why we say "estimate"
Delivery times vary from order to order, and we are not going to pretend otherwise. The timing depends on the maker, the size and weight of the piece, and where in the country it is going. A canvas print and a sectional sofa do not travel the same way or at the same speed.
Where an estimate is available for your address, it appears at checkout, before you pay. Those dates come from the maker and their carrier. Treat them as estimates, not guarantees — that is the wording in our policy, and it is there because it is true.
If you need a firmer answer before you buy, email sales@stationhomedesign.com with the item and your ZIP code and we will ask the maker directly.
Parcel or freight
Smaller items — rugs, canvases, lamps, mirrors, cushions — ship parcel, the way anything else you order online does. They arrive at the door.
Larger furniture and some lighting ships freight. Freight is different in three ways:
- It takes longer than parcel.
- The carrier will usually contact you to schedule a delivery window, and someone has to be there for it.
- It arrives at the curb or the threshold, on a pallet or in large boxes, unless the listing specifically says otherwise. Getting it inside, up stairs and assembled is not part of standard freight delivery.
For a sectional, a dining table or a bed, plan for that: measure the route in, clear the space, and have a second pair of hands for the day.
One order, several boxes, several days
If you order a rug, a lamp and a canvas together, they are coming from three different makers in three different places. They will arrive separately, on different days, each with its own tracking number.
Our policy says it best: nothing has gone wrong when that happens. The order is not lost and the other items are not missing. They are on their own schedules.
Shipping cost
Shipping is calculated at checkout, before you pay, from the maker, the size and weight, and your address. Nothing is added afterwards. Some items carry a shipping charge and some do not; the cart tells you before the card does.
When it is late
Carrier backlogs, weather, and supply problems at the maker can all push a delivery past its estimate. If your order is past its window, email sales@stationhomedesign.com with your order number and we will chase it with the maker. We cannot make a carrier faster, but we can find out where it is and tell you honestly.
When it arrives: check it
Inspect the order when it arrives, and on a freight delivery, inspect it before the driver leaves. If anything is damaged, wrong, or missing, email us straight away with photos. That is the moment we can fix it fastest.
Returns, plainly
Our refund policy gives you 14 days from receiving an item to request a return. To be eligible, the item has to be in the condition you received it — unused, with tags, in its original packaging — and you need the order confirmation.
Request first. Email us to start it; if it is accepted we send the return label and instructions. Items sent back without a request will not be accepted.
What cannot be returned: sale and clearance items, custom and personalised items (personalised canvases are the common one), and gift cards. If you are unsure whether something counts, ask before ordering.
Refunds go to the original payment method within 10 business days of the return being approved.
The honest summary
- US only.
- Passed to the maker within 48 hours; estimate shown at checkout.
- Small things by parcel, furniture by freight with a scheduled window.
- Multiple items arrive separately. That is normal.
- Check on arrival; 14 days to request a return; sale and custom are final.
We would rather you knew all of this now than discovered it with a sofa on the curb. Anything that is still unclear, sales@stationhomedesign.com is read by a person, and the answer will be a straight one.
